During a visit to England in October and November 2019 we made a short road trip to Ely and Lincoln. We had a long visit to Ely cathedral, climbing the octagon tower. We passed through the village of Upwell in the Norfolk fens where my great-grandmother's family lived. Because of old family connections we made a brief stop at Gunby Hall in Lincolnshire. We drove north to cross the Humber Bridge and back. And on our last day we crossed back over the Lincolnshire Wolds to Lincoln itself to visit the cathedral and castle.
