Machu Picchu

We were queueing for the buses in Aguas Calientes by 5:30am and up in Machu Picchu by 7am with thousands of other tourists, much, much more busy than when we had first seen it the previous evening. The rain and cloud came and went to make the views more interesting, but did not interfere with our day. It was hard to decide what to marvel at most - the advanced knowledge and skills of the Incan engineers and craftsmen, or the setting on top of a mountain surrounded by higher mountains and amazingly steep valleys.

Before we left we detoured to the Inca Bridge, where another Inca trail led across a cliff face with a removable bridge of wood that could control access.
