Various creatures seemed to be with us through the construction

There was a phoebe nest by the corner of the workshop door. The phoebes were constantly trying to feed the chicks in the nest. To help them, we avoided working nearby and often took "phoebe breaks" to allow them to feed the babies. The three chicks grew steadily during construction and departed the nest on Day 5.

Water snakes were constantly swimming round us while we worked in the water. They soon found the new pile of rocks we had intended for them.

While moving a rock on land Jen found a salamander underneath.

From time to time fish would nip at our legs in the water, especially if we had a small cut! And A turtle even tried climbing onto the rocks of the dock while we were working there.
